Garden Shares

Neighbors Sharing Food/Flowers/Herbs and More from Their Garden

Join us to share your garden and kitchen bounty. Bring what you have to share; take home something you don’t. Bring your homegrown fruit, vegetables, eggs, herbs, honey, and flowers!

While you are encouraged to share the bounty of your garden, you don’t have to bring anything beyond yourself. Or bring seeds, pots, books, tools, kitchen implements – whatever. Or intend to bring the excess from your garden when your bounty comes in – citrus growers have lots to share in winter, while stone fruit growers will have lots in the summer. This is as much about building community and bonding with your neighbors as it is about exchanging edibles.

A Local Garden Share is held every First Saturday from 12:00-1:00 PM, year-round, at the Soil and Water Garden in Heritage Park in Mountain View. This event is supported by Soil and Water Garden and Transition Palo Alto.

A Local Garden Share is held Second Saturdays March through October from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the redwood grove in the town center of Portola Valley. This event is supported by the Town of Portola Valley.

A Local Garden Share is held every Fourth Sunday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, from January through November, in Sunnyvale, at Charles Street Gardens. This event is supported by a coalition of community, ecological, and neighborhood groups including: Transition Palo Alto.

We hope to expand to other locations in the future.
