  1. Our title Films of Vision and Hope is more significant than we know. A society should help it’s people become their best selves ….by evoking vision and hope.
I just watched Obama’s speech to the House (Mar 20) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/20/obama-quotes-lincoln-to-h_n_507124.html

and that was exactly what he did: he called the Representatives to be their best selves and I, for one, was very moved. This is what a society must do for its people.

  2. We had a wonderful opening for our film series! The audience matched the planning group: the people were warm, positive, open, and enjoyable! Conviviality was alive at the Acterra site on Friday night!

My hope is that we all realize how important congenial, caring experiences are. It’s part of our fight against the violent and angry discourse that is increasingly escalating.

We must speak out about the rise in violent language, but we must also create experiences of empathy and caring. We must attract people to our progressive movements and help them feel respected and cared for.

We made an important step in that direction on February 19th!
